Question 1

What can I have painted?

Accepted Answer

Almost anything that matters to you. Choose from Your Table, for favourite food, drinks and time together; Your Portrait, for one person or the whole family; Your Moment, for a favourite view or scene; You Two, for a pair of people or a person and their pet; Your Pet; and Your Place, for a home, pub, school or any building you love.

Question 2

What's the difference between Expressive and Classic?

Accepted Answer

Expressive is our own style: loose, expressive brushwork and bold, rich colour, full of energy and movement. It captures the feeling of a person or a place rather than every fine detail. Classic is more refined and detailed, in the tradition of oil portraiture, with a truer likeness and a timeless finish. Not sure which to choose? Try both with your free previews and see which feels more like you.

Question 3

How does it work?

Accepted Answer

Choose a style and upload your photos, and we'll create a bespoke digital artwork for you to see on screen. Accept cookies when you visit and you'll get up to 5 free previews in each style. Cookies simply let our website remember your previews, so you can come back and look at them again. When you've found the one you love, choose your size and format and head to checkout. You only pay when you're happy. Then we'll bring your artwork to life. If you've chosen a print or canvas, we'll print your unique piece on highquality paper or canvas, at the size you picked. If you've chosen a digital download, we'll email it straight to you. Every order comes with the digital file.

Question 4

How is my artwork made?

Accepted Answer

We're two artists. Our Expressive style is based on our own paintings, and our Classic style is inspired by traditional oil portraiture. We've turned both into instructions for an AI tool, which paints your photo in the style you choose. That's how we can offer bespoke artwork at accessible prices. We check every order ourselves, before it's printed.

Question 5

Which photos work best?

Accepted Answer

Clear photos taken in daylight, with your subject in focus and nothing blocking the view. Face the camera where you can, keep the background simple and switch off the flash. Our photo guide has more tips for people, pets, places and food.

Question 6

Can I include more than one person or pet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your Portrait in our Classic style can include one person, a couple or the whole family, pets included. You Two, in our Expressive style, brings two people, or a person and their pet, together in one piece.

Question 7

Is the preview what I'll receive?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your preview has a watermark to protect our work, but your finished artwork will be exactly the same, without the watermark.

Question 8

I love my preview, but I'd like to change something. Can I?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can create new previews using the same photos or different ones. Keep going until you find one you love.

Question 9

What's the difference between a digital download, a print and a canvas?

Accepted Answer

A digital download is a highresolution file you can save, share and print yourself. A print is your artwork on thick, textured fine art paper, sent to your door. A framed print comes in a classic frame with a mount, ready to hang. A canvas is your artwork printed onto canvas, and it arrives ready to hang, with the option of a float frame for a finished look.

Question 10

Will the colours match my preview?

Accepted Answer

Very closely. We use highquality printers and inks to create museumstandard artwork for you. Colours can still look slightly different on screen and in print, depending on your device and lighting.

Question 11

What sizes and formats do you offer?

Accepted Answer

You can choose a print, a framed print, a canvas or a framed canvas, in A4 (21 x 29.7cm), A3 (29.7 x 42cm), A2 (42 x 59.4cm) or A1 (59.4 x 84.1cm). Our Classic portraits can be portrait or landscape. Every order includes the highresolution digital file, and you can also buy the digital file on its own.

Question 12

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

You'll see the price for each size and format when you choose your options, before you pay.

Question 13

Is delivery free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, delivery is free on all prints and canvases.

Question 14

How long will it take?

Accepted Answer

Prints and canvases are printed and delivered within 8 working days. Your digital file is emailed to you within 1 to 2 working days.

Question 15

Where do you deliver?

Accepted Answer

We currently deliver within the UK, with more destinations coming soon. If you live outside the UK, please email us and we'll see what we can do.

Question 16

Is checkout secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Payments are handled by Stripe, a trusted payment provider. We never see or store your card details.

Question 17

How will the payment appear on my bank statement?

Accepted Answer

It will show as PAINTED MEMORIES.

Question 18

Can I change or cancel my order?

Accepted Answer

As every piece is made just for you, we start preparing your order as soon as you've placed it, so we can't make changes or offer a refund if you change your mind. Please check your size and details carefully before you order.

Question 19

What if my print arrives damaged or isn't right?

Accepted Answer

We're sorry if that happens. Please email us as soon as you notice, ideally within 1 week, with your order number and a photo, and we'll replace it free of charge. You won't need to send anything back.

Question 20

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Because every piece is made just for you, we can't offer refunds once your order has gone to print. That's why we give you free previews first, so you can be sure you love it. This doesn't affect your legal rights if something arrives damaged or faulty.

Question 21

Do you keep my photos?

Accepted Answer

Only for as long as we need them. If you don't order, we delete your photos and previews after 3 days. For prints and canvases, we keep them for 2 weeks after delivery; for digitalonly orders, 2 weeks after payment, in case we need to reprint it or there's a problem with your email, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time. See our privacy policy for more.

Question 22

Can I change my delivery address?

Accepted Answer

Please check it carefully before you order. If you spot a mistake, email us straight away and we'll do our best to update it before it's sent.

Question 23

Do I get the digital file with my print?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every print and canvas order includes the highresolution digital file, which we'll email to you.

Question 24

Can I order another copy or a bigger size?

Accepted Answer

Yes, within 2 weeks of your order arriving, while we still have your artwork. Just email us. After that, we'll have deleted it to protect your privacy.

Question 25

How do I look after my print or canvas?

Accepted Answer

Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from damp rooms such as bathrooms. Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth.

Question 26

I've already ordered and need help.

Accepted Answer

Email us with your order number and we'll get back to you within 1 working day.

Question 27

How do I get my download?

Accepted Answer

We'll email you your highresolution digital artwork within 1 to 2 working days. Check your junk folder if you can't see it, or email us and we'll resend it.

Question 28

Can I print it myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes, your digital artwork is yours to print for your own home. For the best results at larger sizes, we'd recommend ordering a print from us, as we've tested our sizes for quality.

Question 29

Can I get a refund on a digital download?

Accepted Answer

Because you see your artwork before you buy and we email it to you once you've paid, we can't offer refunds on digital downloads for a change of mind. If something's wrong with your file, email us and we'll put it right.

Question 30

I've lost my file. Can I get it again?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you email us within 2 weeks of delivery for a print or canvas, or 2 weeks of payment for a digitalonly order. After that, we'll have deleted it, so please save it somewhere safe.

Question 31

Can I share it?

Accepted Answer

Of course. Share it with family and friends or on social media. Please don't sell it.
